Brief/Overview:
HRA Planning has been providing planning services to SFPC since 2011, preparing masterplans and development frameworks; and securing planning permission through the delivery of comprehensive planning strategies.
HRA Planning were the Lead Planning consultant advisors appointed to manage the and planning application management of a planning application process made under the Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) provisions to provide for a 35 hectare expansion of Foynes Port – A National Tier 1 Port situated in the Shannon Estuary consisting of new deep water berthage, new landside storage and associated infrastructure.
The success of the Planning strategy reflected the expertise of HRA PLANNING to present a site-specific solution that addressed the interactions between land use planning, flood risk management and ecological sensitivity all of which were determinative in the planning consents process. The Planning approach demonstrated experience in the preparation and con-ordination of effective environmental impact assessment (EIA); and familiarity with the level of technical information necessary to secure planning permission within the context of . European, National, Regional and local planning considerations including the EU Habitats Directive in respect to development occurring within designated SAC and SPA sites.
